FESTIVAL RHESEIS
OSOPPO THEATRE VALENTINA CORTESE
11st October 2025 at 19:30
A festival dedicated to the monologues of classical theatre
Great Athenian theatre was born and grew up within the competitive environment of festivals, with competitions that selected the “best” poets and actors according to the judgement of “popular” juries, not necessarily expert theatre critics.
The important thing was - and still is! - that the recited text touches the sensitivity and emotions of the listener. We believe that this idea can still work today.
For those who love classical theatre, we suggest entering into the spirit of the great texts, choosing the monologue (rhesis) that strikes you most and trying to interpret it in your preferred translation, without fear of comparison, but measuring your ability against that of other competitors in an atmosphere of playful competition.
