An intense and vibrant monologue based on the novel by Erri de Luca. The Neapolitan writer gives voice to the figure of Mary, essential in the history of Christianity, but almost always silent.

 

Miriàm, the Jewish girl visited by the angel, finally tells her story, of her pregnancy, her journey to Bethlehem and her last night, when even her consent is clouded by a brief moment of doubt. "Here is the story of a girl",  writes Erri de Luca, "a worker of divinity, who overturns every custom and law”: here is theatre, which gives a body to Miriam/Mary, the young woman and mother who shines through those pages.
