OPEN LESSON OF THE "LABORATORIO DI DRAMMATURGIA ANTICA"
study for a staging of Euripides' Medea
PIME THEATRE
19th December 2025 at 17:30
The Laboratorio di Drammaturgia Antica (Ancient Dramaturgy Workshop) at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, dedicated this year to Euripides' Medea, combines study and stage practice. At the centre of the work is the figure of Medea: a woman, a foreigner, lucid and unyielding in the face of her husband Jason's betrayal. Following a careful analysis of the text, training and performance exercises, the students will have the opportunity to present to the public a first study of a classic that still questions and shocks today. A valuable opportunity for the public to witness first-hand a phase of the creative process that leads to the construction of a show, amid insights, rehearsals and continuous discoveries.
Theoretical and philological part curated by Prof. Elisabetta Matelli
Training and theatrical preparation by maestro Christian Poggioni
